At first glance, this doesn't appear to make any sense at all. However, in the GYM framework, it makes perfect sense.

Warm Up: Read Psalm 46:10

1 Minute

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!

I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

New Living Translation (NLT)

Work Out: Read Psalm 46

The Psalmist immediately directs our attention to God in the beginning of Psalm 46.

God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.

As I mentioned in the opening video, God has all power. No doubt, we should be looking for / seeking God daily. But when do we look for God? When do we usually seek Him?

Notice the references to elements of nature...

2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3 Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

Earthquakes, crumbling and trembling mountains, roaring and foaming oceans, surging waters...powerful images of nature in devastating motion! Many times, we attribute power to movement, but can you see power in stillness?

Think about this. Even when we are attempting to be still, we are still moving. Yes, even when we are at rest, sleeping, we are in motion - moving at an incredible rate. See, we tend to forhet that we live on a planet that is spinning and revolving around a burning star. On top of that, the solar system we are in is within a moving galaxy, which is within the universe. So, how can you "be still"?

Try doing what I call "Still Presses". You may have heard of bench presses, a strength-building exercise, done by body builders and athletes. The exercise requires that a person move a weighted bar away from the body. Focus and Intentional action are required over the period of Time of the actual exercise. Like the bench press exercise, the "Still Press" also requires Focua and Intentional action over Time. Try it now.

"Still Presses"

1 Minute

Stand or sit where you are in silence. Take deeo breaths whike you think about the beginning of the Psalm 46:10 verse.

“Be still, and know that I am God!"

1 Minute

Stay still. Keep breathing deeply. Pay close attention to each breath in and each breath out. Lisyento yourself breathe. Feel each breath.

Focus:

God's Power demonstrated around you. Start with elements of nature, which He controls. Think about the chaos of nations around us now, but not in a fearful way. Think about the fact that God is our refuge, as the psalmist points out. Especially, think of how the psalm states that God will

intentional action: Breathing and focused thinking
What to Focus on?

Time:
How much time you spend doing this exercise is up to you. Try starting with two mintesand work your way up from there. Remember, the aim is Focused,, intentional actions over time.

Be Still and See God's Power

The psalmist used powerful elements of nature to start the psalm, but turns our attention to our all-powerful God in action...

8 Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:
See how he brings destruction upon the world.
9 He causes wars to end throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.

Still not getting what this has to do with FITness?

It takes Kingdom FITness to Witness God's Power in All Things!

The destructive power of nature, or even the kingdoms of man, are no match for God and His Power to bring Peace! Do you see it? The psalmist contrasts the destructive power of nature and man to bring chaos, against God's power to bring Peace!

Train yourself to be stil...and know that He is God.

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”
